Rousey began her athletic career as a judoka and represented the United States in the 2004 Olympics, winning a bronze medal in the women's 70 kg category. She continued to excel in judo, becoming a World Judo Champion in 2007 and earning multiple medals in international competitions.

She became the first female fighter to sign with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and won the inaugural UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship in 2012. Rousey's dominance in the UFC earned her widespread acclaim, and she became one of the most recognizable figures in combat sports.
