Chris Kyle

Chris Kyle was a highly decorated United States Navy SEAL sniper and author. He was born on April 8, 1974, in Odessa, Texas, and tragically passed away on February 2, 2013.

Chris Kyle served as a sniper in the U.S. Navy SEALs and gained significant recognition for his exceptional marksmanship skills. He served four tours of duty in Iraq as a sniper and had the reputation of being one of the deadliest snipers in American military history.

During his military career, Kyle received numerous commendations and awards for his service, including multiple Bronze Star Medals with Valor and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. He earned the nickname "The Devil of Ramadi" among insurgents due to his effectiveness as a sniper.

Following his military service, Chris Kyle wrote a bestselling autobiography titled "American Sniper," which detailed his experiences as a sniper in Iraq. The book became a tremendous success and was adapted into a film directed by Clint Eastwood in 2014, with actor Bradley Cooper portraying Kyle.

Tragically, Chris Kyle and a friend, Chad Littlefield, were killed at a shooting range in Texas in 2013. The incident was perpetrated by another veteran whom Kyle was trying to help cope with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Chris Kyle's military service, accomplishments as a sniper, and his memoir have made a significant impact, bringing attention to the sacrifices and challenges faced by military personnel in combat. While his life was cut short, his legacy and contributions to his country and the military community continue to be remembered and honored.
