Dahmer's actions often involved gruesome acts of violence, necrophilia, and cannibalism. His arrest in 1991 uncovered the extent of his crimes, including evidence of human remains and the preservation of body parts in his apartment.
He was convicted on multiple counts of murder and sentenced to multiple life terms in prison. In 1994, Dahmer was murdered by a fellow inmate while incarcerated. His case remains one of the most infamous and disturbing in criminal history, raising questions about mental health, the criminal justice system, and the understanding of psychopathic behavior.
